Caving: Stream Passage Pot (26-Mar-2022)

After doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks on Friday, which was a very hot run.  We had a nice walk up in lovely weather to GG main entrance, we then looked at the map to navigate across to Stream Passage Pot entrance. The short entrance pitch was rigged and I carried on down the streamway to start rigging the first of the big pitches (which starts as a high level roof traverse quite a long way back from the pitch head).

Jenna unfortunately had a bit of a SRT nightmare on the entrance pitch and decided to head back to the sunny weather with James.  Geoff, Mark and I continued without any issues to the bottom of the pitches. We then followed the description to find our way through all the sand/mud chambers/passages to end up in GG main chamber. Very impressive as always.

We when headed back to the pitches. I de-rigged and carried all the bags out, which started to get quite heavy and were a bit of a battle getting through the entrance pitch.

An awesome Yorkshire pothole.

I pre-rigged Valley Entrance with a ladder whilst the others walked up the hill.

Another lovely walk up the hill in amazing weather. I'd forgotten just how long the entrance passage goes on for before you get to the first pitches, which we free-climbed until the first proper pitch was reached.

The duck was quite low, but a feet first approach kept you reasonably dry.

We spent a fair bit of time getting everyone through Slit Pot. The exit out of Valley Entrance was all straightforward.
