A Wet & Windy New Year in Yorkshire. Diving in Joint Hole, Simpsons Pot to Kingsdale Mastercave Throughtrip, Lost John's Cavern in very high water levels, running around Pen-y-Ghent and partying at the Helwith Bridge.
Simpsons Pot to Kingsdale Master Cave Through Trip. Finding the entrance up on the plateu was a bit of a problem despite having done the trip before. Once in the cave we didn't have any real problems route finding. We ended up leaving the last pitch (Slit Pot) rigged just in case the other group were following us as we knew their rope wasn't long enough.

It turned out that they had decided to do Swinsto instead and therefore another group ended up going in later on in the week.
We started off having a look at Hurtle Pot but the vizibility didn't look very good and it looked like hardwork to get in so we decided on Joint Hole instead.

Unfortunately I ripped the neck seal on my drysuit when we were getting kitted up so had to dive in a wetsuit but without any boots.

The diving in Joint was very nice and the viz was pretty good. We only went a short way until I started to get cold and then we turned round.

Two Days later Me and Mike Alderton went back to Joint Hole to try and have another dive but the recent rainfall had flooded the entrance and the dry beck was flowing so we aborted that idea.
Water levels were very very high. We rigged two dryish routes which joined in the main streamway. We carried on a short way but the stream was too high to safely continue. There was a continuous sound like thunder in the cave due to how high the water was.
Unfortunately my drysuit neck seal split so i had to dive in my wetsuit with no shoes on. By the Second Airbell I was very cold so headed out.
