GG winch meet - It was a luxury to be able to camp up on the hill next to fell beck and not have to walk up to the caves everyday. The weather wasn't very favourable and it rained a hell of a lot. The winch meet had to close for part of the day as the dams burst. We decided upon Stream Passage Pot and was assured that it was already rigged. However upon reaching the entrance there was no rope visible so a return to the tents were made to get some rope. Apart from the entrance pitch everything else was rigged and a fairly quick trip to the bottom and back out was made. We met the de-rigging party on there way in as we were exiting.
Our next trip of the day was down Bar Pot and out GG main shaft on the winch. It was different doing Bar Pot on ladders. It didn't take us long to get to GG main shaft, it did however take about 45mins in the queue to get on the winch.
After doing our duties/helping out on the surface for the Craven Pothole Club we searched for the long rope so we could do GG main shaft. I rigged the traverse and then did the suitably impressive abseil to the floor. Nick and Bea then followed. It was then time to do the slighter harder option of going back up. I foolishly chose to prusik and de-rig while Nick and Bea decided on the sensible option of using the winch. A well worth evening trip and third of the day.
