After a delayed start due to attending an awards ceremony in Cardiff the night before, we made the long walk across the moor to Pant Mawr. Weather was lovely. At the entrance we met two student groups, and we had to wait for about an hour until we could get down the cave. We rigged it for SRT, whilst they were using a ladder.
Once at the bottom of the pitch, we had a great time exploring the stream-way down to the sump, including a look at the pretties on route.
Andy was pretty tired when we got back to the bottom of the entrance pitch, so I assisted him up the SRT climb.
It was then a lovely evening sunset walk back down the hill.
Very low water levels made for a really nice through trip from Cwm Dwr to OFD1. The Divers Pitch climb was nicely dry-ish. No route finding issues either.
Once in OFD1, the water levels were low enough we just went straight down the main stream and out via Plutos Bath. Andy's first time in the OFD steam-way, which he loved.
The water levels were 650mm on the SWCC graph, which equated to about 2 inches below The Step.
A trip down North West Inlet in wetsuits. A great trip wading through the deep water. The Dragon was an impressive formation. We then had a look at the old railway line dig at the end, which was interesting and impressive.
