Caving: Swildons Hole (09-Apr-00)

This was my first ever cave diving trip, well first ever diving trip. On the Saturday I got a selection of diving kit of various people and also went climbing down at Split rock because it was such a nice day. We all met at the belfry and Trebor checked my kit over. It was then off down Swindon's. The most difficult bit was getting through sump 1, as you had to push all the kit in front of you. Once at sump 2 I was shown how to assemble my kit and I was ready to go. Sump 2 was quite straightforward but I got quite cold waiting in great bell before we did sump 3. We went as far as sump 6 because it was my first trip. I thought the best sump was 4 as it was a bit more technical because you had to manoeuvre round rocks. A thoroughly enjoyable trip.

After the cave diving trip I went straight to stocks house via The Hunters to do some digging. Tony was already down there and I continued digging the upstream level with him. We broke through after clearing a lot of boulders to a small tube about 6ft in length and through into a small chamber.
