Far too long since I last did this trip. I renewed my wardens permit earlier this year so we could get access through the showcave.

Water levels were very low. Crossed the lakes and found our way through to the long crawl without any issues. Once we were out the crawl, we had a quick visit to flabergasm oxbow, before heading round the round trip. When we reached the green canal it was nice to see loads of bouyancy on our side, always make for a more comfortable trip across!!.

We had a quick look at the mazeways entrance sump on our way past, which was open due to the low water levels, but there was not much enthuisasm to go through into mazeways and get wet again (I think we were all still quite cold after the green canal).

The rest of the trip was pretty straight forward. The show cave was closed when we came out so we exited via the little cavers door.

A throughly good trip.

OFD Top to OFD 1 Through-trip.

I was amazed at how little I remembered of the route from top entrance to Salubrious passage, without James I certainly would have got well and truly lost. A quick visit to the Trident & Judge and then down Maypole Inlet to the main stream. Water levels were very low and much fun was had trying to jump over all the pots (or in Jenna's case, falling in them as she was not quite tall enough!!).

Eventually we got down to the confluence with the Cwm Dwr stream and that is where the navigational fun began. Both James and I could remember parts of the route through OFD 1 1/2, but it was all a bit vague. However, we didn't do too badly overall at finding the way through. We found the Divers Pitch and also the Letterbox quite easily, the rest of the route through to Dip Sump involved a bit of exploring around to find the right route but it wasn't too bad.

Once at Dip Sump it was a straight forward exit out the really low OFD 1 streamway. Then the uphill walk back to SWCC.
