Mendip start. After collecting 1500m of rope from Caving Supplies en-route to the dales we didn't head off until the afternoon. We were then side tracked by the CPC members up at GG on their winchmeet. When we finally got underground it was a good trip. A nice warm up in preparation for Peru in a few weeks time.
After a lovely!! Night at Braida Garth we headed over to Chapel-Le-Dale & found a unique little parking spot behind the Hill Inn. Form Here we headed up to Black Shiver. Water levels were fairly high so we only managed the first few pitches before turining round at the duck just before the big pitch.
Classic Yorkshire Pothole. We took it in turns rigging and eventually got to the bottom. Looked at the sump and then headed back out. Did some work at GG afterwards for the CPC winchmeet.
Down Dihedral first thing in the morning before the winch started and then did some work in the Main Chamber for the CPC winchmeet. Got the winch back up afterwards.
Headed down this newly discovered through trip by BPC. It reminded me of something like Wigmore or Priddy Green. Lots of tight crawling and awkward pitch heads. Fortunately the five ladders were all already rigged. The final abseil into Mud Hall of GG was good and welcomed after all that crawling. We went out via the CPC's escape ladders on Bar Pot to save congesting the winch.
