The plan for this trip was to go in Cwm Dwr and exit via OFD1. These plans changed after reaching the main stream from Cwm Dwr we followed it and after a short while it sumped. Water levels at the time were very high so we looked briefly for a high level By-Pass but as we didn't really know where we were going we thought it must have been sumped because of the amount of water. We then decided to make an exit out of OFD2 which in itself proved navigationally challenging. Our first obstacle was a sump in the main streamway which after a bit of searching found a high level passage luckily bypassing the sump. Everything went o.k. until we were up the maypole pitches where finding the route out the rift proved challenging. After some exposed climbing we got to the top of the rift by a rather alternative route. From here between Joel and I we managed to find our way to the top entrance where we were confronted by more wind and rain. The walk back to the activity centre was a bit cold!!
A hungover Sunday morning saw us back down Cwm Dwr. The purpose of the trip being to collect Steve Thomas diving bottles which were just the other side of the long crawl. An easy going trip on the way in and only slightly more strenuous on the way out due to the two diving cylinders we had in transport.
