As water levels were quite low we decided to attempt the short round and shatter series when we arrived at the mud sump it was almost dry so we passed it with ease. We then descended shatter pot and went into shatter series we had no idea where we were going and no survey so it was guess work. We made it to the overhang which we climbed using the fixed metal bar then passed a duck but the way on was unclear so we left shatter series. We then went round to blue pencil and paid a visit to sump 3 and 4, we also had a look at the oxbow in swildons four. After struggling back up blue pencil we went through the almost dry troubles and down to the landing where we went to sump2 before heading out the cave. A thoroughly good but tiring trip.
A good trip exploring various parts of eastwater. We went in the upper traverse and down to the crossroads then along to dolphin chimney and down dolphin pot. We then explored the upper series and did 13 pots. After that we came out via dolphin pot route and through to the entrance boulder ruckle avoiding the upper traverse.
A nice 50' shaft took us down to a muddy cave. Here there were various ways on that didn't lead very far so we dug. 51 bags were hauled out the shaft before we blew up a boulder choke j-rat had previously been stuck in. Digging continues there.
